People say I’m sporty.
I’ve ridden various cycling sportives. I’ve been on the GB age-group triathlon team. I’ve survived more than one half Ironman.
That doesn’t make me sporty.
I’m happiest riding my bike. I’m inspired by others who discover that same thrill. I’m eager for sport to be equally accessible and a source of enjoyment for all.
That makes me sporty.
Not every woman is made or desires to be a cyclist or triathlete, but we should all be supported to find enrichment (physical and mental) through sport. I wanted to create a community based on this mantra and my respect for sport’s natural habitat, the great outdoors.
If not pedalling my own two wheels up a hill, you’ll find me cantering a four-legged friend across a plain or pointing a pair of skis down a mountain face. The summit, the other side or the valley doesn’t have to be reached for me to enjoy the ride.
We can all be sporty if we find an activity we have a passion for and are not allowed to fall out of love.
